Workshop - Who Am I As A Parent: Understanding Your Parenting Approach I Three Dots Parenting I Amsterdam
Parenting isn’t just about what our children do. It’s mostly about who we are as parents.
We all have moments when we wonder: Am I being too strict? Too soft? Should I have handled that differently? Why does this situation always turn into a battle?
There is no perfect way to parent, and no parent gets it right all the time.
This workshop is an opportunity to pause, reflect and look at your relationship with your child, your parenting approach and the kind of parent you want to be.
Together, we’ll explore how we can provide children with the connection, boundaries and guidance they need, while maintaining a strong, and respectful relationship with them.
What will we explore?
The relationship with your child
Our relationship with our children is at the heart of parenting.
We’ll look at what helps build connection and trust, why connection matters when things get difficult, and how everyday interactions can strengthen, or sometimes challenge, the relationship we have with our children.
How to have authority without being authoritarian
Children need boundaries. They also need to feel heard, respected and connected.
So how do we find that balance?
We’ll explore what healthy parental authority can look like: setting clear boundaries and taking the lead without relying on fear, control or authoritarian parenting.
Establishing boundaries
When children cross a boundary, what should happen next?
We’ll look at the difference between punishment and consequences, and reflect on what actually helps children learn from difficult moments rather than simply making them comply.
Maintaining the relationship
Saying “no”, setting limits and holding boundaries doesn’t have to mean damaging the connection.
We’ll explore how we can stay connected while still being firm, repair after difficult moments, and show our children that conflict does not mean the relationship is at risk.
What to expect
This is not a lecture about how to be a perfect parent. You can expect a relaxed mix of practical insights and strategies, reflection, discussion and interactive activities, with plenty of opportunities to think about how the ideas apply to your own family.
You’ll leave with:
A better understanding of your own parenting approach
Practical ideas for setting boundaries while maintaining connection
New perspectives to take into your everyday parenting
Space to reflect on the parent you want to be
And perhaps most importantly, a little more confidence in your own parenting
journey.
Who is this for?
Parents-to-be who want to start thinking about their parenting approach
Parents of young children who are finding their way through the early years
Parents of school-aged children who are navigating new challenges as their children grow
Parents of older children who are reflecting on how their role and relationship
are evolving
This space is for parents of all parenting styles or philosophies. You simply need to come with curiosity and an openness to reflect.
Note: The price includes VAT
